Zurich is having a bistronomy moment — and if you’re wondering what that means:

Bistronomy = gourmet food without the fuss. No white tablecloths or waitlists, just seasonal dishes, natural wines, and a great vibe. Sometimes it’s a cozy brasserie, other times a relaxed wine bar with a sharp menu — but always about good ingredients and easygoing charm.

  1. «Capet» – Seasonal Neo Bistrot

The latest opening from the Silex team is Capet, a new neo-bistrot near Idaplatz that’s already become a go-to date night spot for locals. Expect local produce, a rotating menu, low-intervention wines — and our personal must-try non-alcoholic pick: Cul Sec. Highlights from our visit? The agnolotti, seasonal asparagus, and their heavenly burnt cheesecake — all served with a laid-back, experimental flair.

  1. «Neri Cantina» – Italian Inspired Wine Bar

This cozy new wine bar in Wipkingen is all about Italian flavors, thoughtful design, and a laid-back dining experience that feels both relaxed and refined. It’s walk-ins only, but what you’ll find goes far beyond your typical wine bar — think seasonal starters, homemade focaccia, silky pasta dishes, and a show-stopping affogato sundae. With its creative menu, quality ingredients, and casual charm, it captures that sweet spot between neighborhood favorite and elevated dining.

  1. «Latino Bistrot» – Italian with a Filipino Twist

Seefeld’s new Latino Bistrot by Chef Ken Roja brings Italian comfort food with a playful Filipino twist. The rotating menu features bold, seasonal dishes like ceviche, crispy fish croquettes, buttery leek with beurre blanc, and juicy tagliata. It’s all served in a relaxed, stylish space that captures the spirit of Zurich’s new dining wave. Don’t miss the silky flan or the signature ube soft serve to finish.

  1. «ORA Bar» – Drinks, Small Plates & Vibes

Another new gem, ORA Bar, is bringing fresh energy to the Old Town — and drawing the cool crowd from Lochergut. The concept? Drinks, small plates, and good tunes. But don’t let the laid-back vibe fool you — the food delivers. Think coconut ceviche, porchetta, and a standout Basque cheesecake by Ken Roja. Paired with natural wines and cocktails by Marco Colelli, it’s elevated, creative, and relaxed — the kind of place where the night starts, and often ends.

  1. «Capri Bistrot» - Dolce Vita in Seefeld

Capri Bistrot brings a fresh energy to Zurich’s Seefeld — combining elegant Milan-inspired interiors, a warm and playful atmosphere, and a seasonal menu focused on simplicity and quality. While Head Chef Charles Aggett leads the kitchen with Mediterranean-influenced dishes like oysters on ice and tuna belly ceviche, the space itself—filled with historic details, curated art, and unexpected touches like a disco ball in a basketball hoop—sets the tone for a dining experience that’s both grounded and full of surprise.

  1. «Freddy» – Comfort Food & Natural Wines

After closing his fine dining spot Kin, Rico Jauch is back with Freddy — a place that swaps formality for flavor and personality. It’s all about soulful comfort food, natural wines, and rotating guest chefs. Think big flavor without the fine-dining price tag. Right now, Dian Dian Mian are in the kitchen, serving their beloved hand-pulled noodles.

  1. «Tavo» – Small Plates & Big Cocktails

Tavo brings bistronomy energy to Kreis 4 with a rotating concept: every three months, a new guest chef introduces a fresh culinary theme. Right now, it’s Japanese — with dishes like Kinoko Okonomiyaki & Tamago Sando. Behind the idea is Armin, co-founder of Lupo, known for natural wines and bold, unconventional cocktails. It’s creative, relaxed, and always evolving — except for the Negroni fountain, which flows non-stop.
