Zurich Art Weekend is back from June 13 to June 15 — three days packed with exhibitions, performances, talks, and open galleries all across the city. With so much happening, it can be hard to know where to start. That’s why we’ve put together a little guide with some of the most exciting events, from major institutions to underground gems.

Art Walks - Local Gallery Hopping
Not sure where to begin? The Art Walks are a great way to explore Zurich’s art scene with expert guidance. Led by curators, art historians, and local insiders, these two-hour tours take you through a curated selection of galleries, off-spaces, and institutions. Kunsthalle Zürich - Over, Out and Above I Klara Lidén
Kick things off with Klara Lidén’s first major solo show in Switzerland — she transforms Kunsthalle Zürich into an urban playground filled with construction panels, street lamps, and old trash bins. Her works are raw, physical, and quietly rebellious, inviting you to rethink how we move through and experience public space.

Museum Haus Konstruktiv – WE ARE HERE! Exhibition
A must-see moment for this institution: after 24 years at Unterwerk Selnau, Museum Haus Konstruktiv has officially moved to Limmatstrasse 268 at Löwenbräukunst — and they’re celebrating with WE ARE HERE!, a beautifully curated show of collection highlights and new additions.
The exhibition spans three halls: one featuring historic concretists like Fritz Glarner, Max Bill, Camille Graeser, and Verena Loewensberg, and two others focusing on contemporary voices including Harald Naegeli, Elodie Pong, and Francisco Sierra.

Kunsthaus Zürich –Retrospective I Suzanne Duchamp
Continue with a true highlight of Zurich Art Weekend: this is the first global retrospective of Dada artist Suzanne Duchamp (1889–1963). Known as the sister of Marcel Duchamp, she was a pioneering figure in the Dada movement, with a bold, semi-abstract style that evolved into vibrant figurative painting after 1922.
The exhibition features over 50 works, offering a rare chance to rediscover a groundbreaking yet often overlooked artist whose influence is only now being fully recognized.

Hauser & Wirth – Ed Clark: Paint is the Subject
A true highlight this year: the first-ever solo exhibition in Switzerland dedicated to pioneering American abstractionist Ed Clark.
Presented at Hauser & Wirth Zurich on Limmatstrasse, Paint is the Subject showcases Clark’s iconic large-scale works alongside archival material spanning over seven decades. Curated by Tanya Barson in close collaboration with the artist’s estate, the show offers a powerful and comprehensive look at his groundbreaking use of color, form, and gesture.

Gallery House Zurich – A New Art Fair in Kreis 5
In the heart of Kreis 5, Gallery House Zurich brings together 14 galleries under one roof, showcasing contemporary artworks across 430 m² of natural light-filled space. This new hybrid between fair and exhibition invites galleries to create site-specific presentations in a unique architectural setting.
Expect contributions from galleries such as Suns.works, Studioli Roma, Mai 36, Sentiment, Blue Velvet, and Parkett — the latter referencing the legendary Zurich-based art magazine.

jevouspropose - by Billy Morgan I An Underground Off-Space Gem
At Molkenstrasse 21, this off-space offers a raw and intimate art experience. For its 20th edition, jevouspropose welcomes marytwo, a non-profit artist-run space from Lucerne, presenting a solo exhibition by Billy Morgan (1994, London).
Morgan’s work explores the body, performance, and text — focusing on the tension between collective creation through labor and the physical cost it demands. The installation reflects on this duality through subtle, evocative elements.
Performance by Billy Morgan: A text-based live performance exploring the emotional weight of a “plea” and a “demand” through voice and presence.

Museum Rietberg – Maedeup Knotting Workshop
As part of the Hallyu! The Korean Wave exhibition, join a hands-on Maedeup workshop led by artist Jae-soon Joon. You’ll learn to create three traditional Korean knot-style bracelets — a unique chance to explore a historic craft once practiced by women of the Joseon Dynasty.

At TonhalleAir, art meets sound. During Zurich Art Weekend, the Tona program opens its studios and installations, inviting you to explore how artists respond to space and music.
